Q & A with Pro-Wakeboarder & SheShreds Athlete Taylor McCullough.

by Virginia Buechel on August 13, 2015

Taylor McCullough

SheShreds was excited when Pro-Wakeboarder & Team Athlete Taylor McCullough recently visited Utah and held a wakeboard clinic and Ladies Night with lucky participants. After that exciting week, the SheShreds HQ was even more stoked to hear that Taylor is traveling to Tokyo to compete in pro event in the next few weeks.

So before her schedule got busy, we wanted to sit down and ask Taylor some fun questions about her riding, what she does for fun, and some of her favorite things.

What is ONE item you cannot leave home without?

My phone.

So far, what has been your greatest challenge of wakeboarding?

Getting myself to try a new trick for the first time! After I try it once I'm fine.

Name 3 things that get you stoked for the day on the water. (Songs, food, drinks, etc.)

Chick-Fil-A, a large cup of ice water, and being with my friends.

What are some things (books, people, coaches, etc.) that keep you motivated to compete?

My parents for sure, as well as my coach Trevor Hansen.

Finish this sentence: The greatest movie of all time is ____________________.

American Sniper.

What is your favorite trick to throw down in competition that you know makes the judges go "WOW"?

I think judges like things with a lot of style and grabs.

What tricks are you currently working on?

Late Indy Roll to Blind.

If you were on a stranded island and you had a choice of having unlimited supply of one of the follow what would you choose and why: peanut butter, gummi bears, or Dorito chips.

That's a tough one, gummi bears or Doritos. I think I'd have to go with Doritos.

What is one sport that you have never tried, but think you would be really good at?

I hadn't tried Flowboarding until a few weeks ago, and I thought I'd be pretty good at it. It turns out it's a lot harder than it looks.

Do you have an inspirational athlete you admire? If so, who and why?

Bethany Hamilton. I mean at what she's been through and she's still out there shredding.

Favorite social media channel?

Instagram and Snapchat, I'm on one of them 24/7.

Funniest memory of wakeboarding.

I was riding doubles with my friend to film a video, and we landed this crazy trick we were trying, as we were celebrating looking at the GoPro I ran into a kicker and flipped upside down off of it.
