SheShreds Q&A - Sara Wayman at Powder Mountain

by Bold Apps on February 25, 2018

Sara Wayman, Director of the Adventure Center and Group Sales at Powder Mountain is one of the best people to show you around the mountain, and we're stoked to have her leading ride alongs March 3 at the SheShreds Jamboree!  With her long history at the mountain, she knows every powder stash and tree line like no one else, and she's stoked to show you around.  Check out her story of how she got involved with Powder Mountain at a VERY young age:

My Grandparents, Chuck & JoAnn Panter, worked for the Cobabe Family for 40 years so we were privileged to grow up at Powder Mountain.

My Mom taught me to ski before I can remember. Grandpa Mike at the Ski School
will tell you the story of my mother skiing with my older brother on the leash, me in a back pack (when kids in back packs were still allowed) and pregnant with my sister.  Her name is Shugie, and she has a run named after her off of James Peak, the Shug'r Bowl.

My Grandpa Chuck started snowboarding in the mid 80's and taught my brother and my cousin Jody to board. Of course me and my sister were not far behind and I put away skis completely from 1992 until about 2012. At that time, I realized the freedom that skiing offers, especially in backcountry terrain and skiing with my niece and nephews.

The past couple of years I switch from my board to skis, depending on conditions and who I'm skiing with.  Love them both!

I'm hoping to live up to the Legacy left to me, I miss my Grandma JoAnn a lot, and I think she would be happy to see me working in her old office occasionally and representing the Panter Family with Pride!
