Weapon(s) of choice: My snowboard, but I love to skateboard, wakeboard, and play soccer.
What’s an average day for you like? Wake up, stretch, go to school, get home, do homework, and workout. I eat and do other things in between. On the weekends I wake up, stretch, head up to the mountain and shred. If I have homework I'll do it on my way up or down the mountain.
What is the most difficult part of your activity/sports for a beginner? The easiest? The most difficult part when learning how to snowboard is learning how to stop. The
easiest part when beginning to snowboard is falling!
What is the best and worst thing about being female in your sport? The worst thing is that females are not paid equally or even close to what males are. The best thing about being a female in my sport is that since there are so few females, you can get to know each other quickly.
What would you like to see change in your sport to make it better for you and other female athletes? I would like to see more all female events.
Besides your ability and style factor as an athlete, how would you describe your personal style? I don't fit into one category. One day I could be really girly and the next day I could be super sporty.
What are your favorite brands/designers for your sports apparel and for stepping out? For snowboarding, I like brands that keep me warm, are functional and have super bright girly colors. I hate being mistaken for a boy on the mountain. For stepping out, I like to wear jeans, boots, and a cute top.
Let’s hear your thoughts on how important looking good is to feeling good. “Being” your personal best? I think if your looking good, a person feels good, so it is necessary to have both.
How dangerous do you really think it is compared to what people do in their regular activities? I think it depends on your ability level. Snowboarding is an extreme sport that can be dangerous, but if you're cautious and smart, a person can avoid most dangers.
I bet in your experience you have seen some crazy crashes. Describe one. I have seen a snowboarder try a back flip and hit his head while landing. I've had my own crazy
crash, but I managed to ride away.
What usually gets people hooked on your activity/sport? I think the adrenaline rush gets people hooked on snowboarding.
What is your favorite trick? My favorite trick is always the one I'm about to learn.
Do you own any other toys? Skateboard and wakeboard.
What gets you pumped up for the day? Music... I have a special snowboard mix on my IPod. It ranges from late 70's music to what they play on the radio today.
What are three things you could not live without? My Cali4nia Pass, my parents because they're my ride to the mountains and my snowboard.
What are your expectations for this activity/sport? I hope the sport of snowboarding continues to grow and that more girls give it a try.
Who have been your biggest supporters in getting you to where you are now? My biggest supporters have been my parents, grandpa, and my coaches.
Who’s your favorite rider/shooter (photo/video)? My favorite riders are Jamie Anderson (Slopestyle) and Kelly Clark (Halfpipe)
What do you do in your spare time when you’re not riding/shooting/competing? I work on my academics, workout and I love to read.
How about in the off season to stay in shape? I play soccer, skateboard, and work out.
What is your biggest goal to accomplish this/next season? I want to be a positive role model for my younger sister and other girls that are just starting to snowboard.
What do you do to prep for a competition? In order to prep for a competition, I tune out all the negativity around me and get my head in the game.
What competitions and other awards have you won? Include your non sports accomplishments also. I won 1st in Halfpipe and 1st in Boardercross at the 2016 USASA Nationals. I placed 2nd in Halfpipe at the 2015 USASA Nationals. At the 2014 USASA Nationals I placed 1st in Slopestyle and 2nd in Halfpipe. In school, I maintain at least a 3.83 and have received Honor Roll every trimester. I am also in the Honors Program at school.
What’s your favorite “way” to ride( wake sport- specific, cable, boat, winch)(Snowsport specific-park, freeride/backcountry, urban)? I love to ride the park with my crew.
Favorite conditions? Any conditions as long as there's snow. I live in So Cal, so I can't be picky.
Where would be your biggest dream place to ride and why? I would like to go to New Zealand so I can ride all year long.
What song(s) do you listen to while riding that puts you in the zone? One of my faves is Shooting Star by Bag Raiders.
What turned you on to your sport? My dad's student wanted to teach me how to snowboard and I've been on my snowboard ever since.
Any new tricks you’re working on? I'm always working on something new.
What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever done in your sport? Meeting awesome riders that inspire me.
What other extreme/action sports are you into? Skateboarding, surfing, and wake boarding.
If extreme/action sports didn’t exist, what would you be doing with all the free time you’d have? Creating an extreme sport!
What’s your favorite board/bike/sled to ride and why? I love my Burton Feel Good.
What’s the trick to riding features and not killing yourself? Balance, practice, and fully committing to the trick.
How would you describe your riding style? I don't have a specific riding style. I just like to have fun.
What would you say is your signature trick? My signature trick is a Stalefish.
Favorite drink of choice to refresh yourself after a long day of riding/shooting? Naked Juice Mighty Mango or water.
What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to awesome, just kidding. I would like to be a doctor when I grow up.
