Your Age: 19

Your Location (where do you ride mostly): Snowbasin, Powder Mountain - Ogden,
Utah

Weapon(s) of choice: My Niche Minx snowboard and my GoPro Hero3

What’s an average day for you like? Sleep, Eat, Homework, Ride. Repeat.

What is the most difficult part of your activity/sports for a beginner? The easiest? The hardest thing is linking turns, and the easiest is just having a good time!

What is the best and worst thing about being female in your sport? I think the
best thing is the growing female community out here and all the support, the
worst is that most girls aren’t taken seriously.

Besides your ability and style factor as an athlete, how would you describe your personal style? I would describe it as very simplistic, but it also ranges from very girly to grunge to hipster. It all depends on the day!

What are your favorite brands/designers for your sports apparel and for stepping out? I really like Neff, Burton, Saga Outerwear, and SheShreds, of course!

How dangerous do you really think your sport is compared to what people do in their regular activities? Snowboarding is a pretty dangerous sport compared to “regular activities,” if you don’t know what you are doing. But if you stay within your personal boundaries and ride to what you know your ability is, it isn’t much more dangerous compared to peoples’ regular activities.

I bet in your experience you have seen some crazy crashes. Describe one. I was riding in the park, and on my first run (bad idea already!!) I overshot a jump and landed directly on my lower back on some ice and ended up with a fractured vertebrae and compressed spine! Definitely my most crazy crash.

What usually gets people hooked on your activity/sport? The adrenaline rush!

What is your favorite trick?Front Blunt

What are three things you could not live without? My Subaru. Snow. Snowboard.

Who have been your biggest supporters in getting you to where you are now? Definitely my parents and my sister, but some of my close friends and coaches have helped me get so far!

Who’s your favorite rider/shooter (photo/video)? My favorite male rider is Mark McMorris, and my favorite female rider is Jessika Jenson.

What do you do in your spare time when you’re not riding/shooting/competing? I'm usually working, doing homework, or sleeping.

What is your biggest goal to accomplish this/next season? I want to go to USASA Nationals and place in the top 5 for women's 14 and up rail jam!

What do you do to prep for a competition? Definitely practice a lot, listen to some good music, and eat a healthy meal beforehand.

What competitions and other awards have you won? In snowboarding, I’ve got a silver and bronze medal in USASA Rail Jam, second place at a SheShreds Ladies’ Night rail jam, at the 2016 USASA National Competition, I placed 15th in the Women’s 14 and over Rail Jam, I’ve placed at a few of the smaller local competition (mostly second, but I have topped the podium before!), and I’ve won a few other small prizes for best trick, or best wipeout. In school, I’ve been on the Principal’s Honor Roll every year since I was in 7th grade up until I graduated.

What’s your favorite “way” to ride? My favorite way to ride in snowboarding has to be park.

Favorite conditions? Bright and sunny with soft, well groomed snow.

What song(s) do you listen to while riding that puts you in the zone? Daft Punk - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. Kanye West - Good Morning. Schoolboy Q - That Part. Flume - Say It. Cage the Elephant - Around My Head. The Chainsmokers - Roses.

What turned you on to your sport? A school field trip when I was in the 4th grade!

Any new tricks you’re working on? I'm working on dialing in my front boardslides, back lips, and learning some cab spins on jumps!

What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever done in your sport? I went to the USASA 2016 National Competition.

What’s your favorite board/bike/sled to ride and why? My Niche Minx! It's so versatile and lightweight. I can ride it in the park, float through the power, or do all mountain riding on it.

What’s the trick to riding features and not killing yourself? Staying within reason and knowing what your limits are and how far you are willing to push yourself.

How would you describe your riding style? It's mostly freestyle, but I do enjoy free riding once in a while.

Favorite drink of choice to refresh yourself after a long day of riding/shooting? As funny or weird as it sounds, I always enjoy some chocolate milk after a long day of riding!

What do you want to be when you grow up? A sports psychologist!
