What challenges do you face being a female in your sport? I know that when I walked into a gym full of men recently to play pick up basketball, I felt a little timid. I'm a pretty confident person, so I got over it within a few minutes, but it can be scary. I also made the last two winning baskets, so I left there feeling pretty good after all the high fives from the "guys". For snowboarding and being on the mountain, it's such a diverse culture now, I don't feel that it's challenging. I feel accepted when I ride. I've also learned not to care what people think because in the end, you are what matters most, not only to yourself, but your circle of friends and family. They love you for you.
What Does SheShreds.co Mean to You?
Sheshreds has PROVEN to me that this is a sisterhood like no other. The women surrounding this brand are nothing short of amazing individuals who support one another near and far. As I get older, I have noticed that real friends are hard to come by, and I know that I can reach out to these ladies for advice and encouragement at any time.
What has been your most memorable moment so far? When my husband and I were both instructors at Bear Valley Mountain Resort, he took out all the boys from a school group, and I had the girls. We were chasing each other in and out of the gully's on a powder day. It's fun to share fun experiences with your best friend.
