Your Name (and Nickname): Jordan Wolfe

Your Age:  11

Your Location (where do you ride mostly): Lake Norman, North Carolina

Weapon(s) of choice: I love to shred on my ME (Meagan Ethell) board!  I also shred the slopes on my Burton Feelgood smalls board.  I love to go to the skatepark with my friends and ride my skateboard.

What’s an average day for you like?  During the school year I get up early and go to school.  When I get out of school I come home and hang out, do my homework then go shred!  In the summer I wakeboard as much as I can and have competitions on the weekends.  I love to go to the pool and hang out with my friends.  During the winter I try to do as much physical activity as I can to stay fit!

What is the most difficult part of your activity/sports for a beginner? The easiest? The best part is meeting other female athletes who have similar interests.  I have made some great girl friends through wakeboarding and we all have so much in common and share the same passion!  The worst if probably always feeling like you have something to prove to your male counterparts.  Most of the time it doesn’t get to me.  It is pretty sweet though when I beat the guys who are in the same division as me!

What is the best and worst thing about being female in your sport?  The best is meeting other girls – we all have interests!  I guess the worst is that you sometimes feel like you have to prove yourself more.

Besides your ability and style factor as an athlete, how would you describe your personal style?  Cool, quirky kind and calm

What are your favorite brands/designers for your sports apparel and for stepping out? SheShreds of course!  I also love Liquid Force, Ripcurl, Roxy and C4!

Let’s hear your thoughts on how important looking good is to feeling good. “Being” your personal best  When I look and feel good I am more confident.  I feel like I can conquer the world!

How dangerous do u really think it is compared to what people do in their regular activities?  Not so much more dangerous.  You just have to crawl before you walk!

I bet in your experience you have seen some crazy crashes. Describe one. I have seen and been involved in a few!  Anytime anyone catches an edge and goes down it is pretty gnarly.  Catching an edge never ends well!

What usually gets people hooked on your activity/sport?  When I tell them how free you feel and fun it is!  And how you just feel awesome when you finally land a new trick!

What is your favorite trick? The Dabbin’ Air :)  It’s a trick I made up - It’s a dab while you are in the air!  I am a big Cam Newton fan and wanted to incorporate his famous Dab into my wakeboarding!

Do you own any other toys?  4 wheeler, bike, scooter

What gets you pumped up for the day? I know I am always going to learn something new!

What are three things you could not live without? Family, friends and wakeboarding

What are your expectations for this activity/sport? I am pretty hard on myself so of course I always expect to do my best!  I always want to progress and push myself and go outside my comfort zone.  You never know what you can do until you try it!  I would love to get a scholarship and wakeboard on a college team one day and compete in the Collegiate Nationals.  And of course, it’s every girls dream to turn pro!  Mostly I want to have FUN while I am doing it!

Who have been your biggest supporters in getting you to where you are now? My family, my IcyWakes Surf Shop family (all the guys are ride with are awesome and always pushing each other to do their best!) and my coach Stephen Pierce!

Who’s your favorite rider/shooter (photo/video)? I love to watch Stephen Pierce ride – he does some pretty sick tricks!  On the girls side I am a big fan of Amber Wing.

What do you do in your spare time when you’re not riding/shooting/competing? I love to just chill and hang out with my friends and family.

How about in the off season to stay in shape?  I do LOTS of trampoline practice!  I also am on my Indo board quite a bit to work on my balance.  I recently got into indoor rock climbing and am really loving that.  I go whenever I can - and it’s a really good workout!

What is your biggest goal to accomplish this/next season? Inverts and bigger spins!

What do you do to prep for a competition? Just relax, do a little stretching and go through my run in my head.

What competitions and other awards have you won? Include your non sports accomplishments also.

In 2016 I finished:

3rd in Women’s Division at Wakefest in TN

4th overall in the Performance Ski and Surf Gravel Tour in the Girls Divisions, 2nd at Wake the Lake in Lake Norman, NC, Finished 5th at Nationals in Acworth, GA in the Girls Division, 7th in the WWA World Competition in Toronto, Canada.

I also received the “Golden Buckle Award” for Sportsmanship form Danny Amir - AKA Dano the Mano, The noise of the north!

In 2015 I finished 2nd in the state in the Novice Division for INT league, finished 3rd overall in GROM Girls in  The Performance SKi and Surf Gravel Tour, 3rd place in the GROM Girls at WWA Nationals in Miami.

I came in 1st place at  the NC INT in the grom division in 2014 and came in 2nd at INT regionals in Alabama in 2014.  1st place in Wake the Lake in 2014.

I have been on the A honor roll every semester since 3rd grade.  I received the Raising Respect Award at my elementary school for being a good role model.

What’s your favorite “way” to ride? My favorite way to ride is behind my Malibu 23LSV!

Favorite conditions?  Glass!!!  I like to ride EARLY in the morning when no one else is out and the water is butter!

What song(s) do you listen to while riding that puts you in the zone? I love to listen to heavy metal before competitions and while I am on the boat!  It just gets me pumped up to ride.

What turned you on to your sport?  My dad used to wakeboard and once I tried it I was hooked!  I went to camp at IcyWakes and learned some tips and techniques and the rest is history!

Any new tricks you’re working on?  Going upside down!

What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever done in your sport? There are so many cool things and cool people I have met!  I guess my favorite is that for the past 2 years Malibu has hosted a Women’s Season Opener.  For 2 days I got to ride and get coached by Amber Wing, Tarah Mikacich, Abby Delgoffe and Dallas Friday!

What other extreme/action sports are you into? I love riding my 4 wheeler. I have lots of woods around me and my sister and I love to go out and just have fun!  I also love to snowboard, go to the local skatepark to ride my skateboard and go Indoor Rock Wall Climbing.

If extreme/action sports didn’t exist, what would you be doing with all the free time you’d have? I don’t know – I guess I would be going insane!

What’s your favorite board/bike/sled to ride and why? Love my ME board.  My ME board has helped me progress and definitely get bigger air which I love.  I have a TREK mountain bike that gets a lot of use in the woods and on the trails.

What’s the trick to riding features and not killing yourself ? Stay focused and in control and be confident.   Don’t be intimidated!

How would you describe your riding style?  Fun but aggressive.  Confident and in control - I am always thinking about my next trick!

What would you say is your signature trick? Definitely the Dabbin Air :)  I didn’t have time to throw it in a competition this summer and one of the judges asked me why I didn’t do the dab.  I guess it has made an impression on people!

Favorite drink of choice t o refresh yourself after a long day of riding/shooting? Vitamin water

What do you want to be when you grow up?  I want to be a computer engineer.  I love science, robots and technology.  Also, if I turned pro that wouldn’t be too bad either :)
