How dangerous do you really think it is compared to what people do in their regular activities? Snowboarding is definitely a dangerous sport whether you are doing slope style, boarder cross , halfpipe or even just free riding. The bar is always getting raised so people are constantly pushing themselves but it only takes one small thing to go wrong for your life to be changed.
I bet in your experience you have seen some crazy crashes. Describe one. I have experienced quite a few crashed myself, one time I was competing in a rail jam while there was a snow storm out side and my goggles kept fogging up so I took them off and went to hit a big down rail with a kink at the bottom but as I was riding up to it the snow was blinding me so I got on the rail fine but caught my edge on the kink and nailed my collarbone on the rail.. heard the audience yell and I tried to play it off cool but then realized my collarbone was in half and poking out my shoulder …. So now I have a metal plate, 6 bolts and no feeling! Good times.
