Your Age: 15
Your Location (where do you ride mostly): Ruka! The best park in Finland.
Weapon(s) of choice: My weapons of choise are some fresh Armada park skis ready to go! Also skateboard with some sheshreds stickers on it. I think the important plus with these two is headphones playin' some Wutang!
What’s an average day for you like? Because of Finland when I wake up it is dark and probably cold during all winter. I grab something to eat and be late cause I didn't wake up when my alarm first started ringing. Then I'll try to find all of my gear which I've been thrown all around my house, and be more late again. Finally I get to the buss and it takes me 20 life taking minutes to get to the mountain. I'll start with some warm up laps and I either stay at the park all day or I'll go find some forest where to shred. Either way I will be having so much fun with my friends training and doing new stuff. Day will be go so fast that I can even notice that it is dark again. Or I just don't think that so much when I'm riding. When I get to home, I'll throw things again all around to make it easy to me find that gear next morning. Then I'll check some social media and be stoked for my sisters in SheShreds doing awesome things!
What is the most difficult part of your activity/sports for a beginner? The easiest? Trying new things. For specially for a woman who is new in a park scene. Usually there is already lots of friends to give you some tips. But from my view of being one of the only girl riders in park it puts lot of pressure to your performance.
What is the best and worst thing about being female in your sport? Best thing is that you get multiple new friends, people are so great in ski industry. Specially I adore those woman who encourages another women to start skiing and Is stoked about it and does not see everyone as a challenger.
Worst is that in small country or in small resort, even in a big one people know you and if you make something 'bad' everyone knows you. Then there is people who talk things that isn't true. Also that, that men doesn't see always as a athletes that we are.
What would you like to see change in your sport to make it better for you and other female athletes? Media! And some more events like Suzuki Nine Queens, to get some girls try new things in a features that are build for women. Media has a big role. I think there would be more like sbc skier magazine cause in the web page there is lots of women skier interviews and things like that. Media has to show the side of female athletes being good in their sport not a being just pretty. I don't say that you can not be pretty doing sport you do but media has to change.
Besides your ability and style factor as an athlete, how would you describe your personal style? I would say that it is a Rap style. Braids and big clothes.
I don't like to do tight clothes - doesn't feel comfortable. Best thing in my life is my oversized second-hand denim jacket!
What are your favorite brands/designers for your sports apparel and for stepping out? Armada, big company I know. I love their gear. I don't even explain this. Just Armada. Small shoutout to Virtika as well. So swag and I love Katrina in Virtika's crew.
Let’s hear your thoughts on how important looking good is to feeling good. “Being” your personal best? Yeah I think that. But you don't always have to have the newest gear from your favorite designer. In park scene best thing is that you can wear anything you want cause that isn't a the biggest thing in skiing.
How dangerous do you really think it is compared to what people do in their regular activities? Any sport can be dangerous. Next season I will be moving to street skiing 'urbans' as you might know and that is one of the extreme sports that is really a sick sport and you might crash pretty hard tho.
I bet in your experience you have seen some crazy crashes. Describe one. I didn't get my pop right so I just crashed one rail and crashed also my shoulder ankle and hip.
What usually gets people hooked on your activity/sport? Watching some good female skiers and good music.
What is your favorite trick? All the onefoot 50-50! And to watch my friends do the best one is all different screamen' seamans.
Do you own any other toys? Hiking shoes. During summer you can only explore new places here and where to camp.
