Your Age: 20
Your Location (where do you ride mostly): When snowboarding I like to be in the Milton Keynes indoor snowslope (when not on the mountain)! And when longboarding I'd be happy anywhere in the world! (but mostly around Portsmouth Beachfront)
Weapon(s) of choice: Snowboarding and Longboarding will always be my initial choice, but I want to learn to park skateboard, and no matter what I'm doing I'll always have my camera with me filming all that's going on!
What’s an average day for you like? Well when I'm at University I'll be studying hard, but obviously when I'm out I'll be playing hard! I always look for adventure in whatever I'm doing, even when I'm out for a walk I'll always be looking for new places to skate or fun things to climb! I just can't help it!
What is the most difficult part of your activity/sports for a beginner? The easiest? Well for snowboarding its always hard to start yourself off, its quite hard to learn, but the best thing ever once you get the hang of it! Once you get in your first turn its amazing how fast you can progress to take your first carve, or landing your first jump! The possibilities are endless!
What is the best and worst thing about being female in your sport? The best thing about being a female snowboarder/longboarder will always be the look on everyone face when you show them what you've got! A lot of people are often surprised at what a girl can do! (which in its turn is also the worst thing, as they have low expectations from the start purely because I'm a female!)
What would you like to see change in your sport to make it better for you and other female athletes? Right now snowboarding is pretty fair game for both men and women, but for longboarding/skating, its a very male dominated sport. Even heading down to a local park can get some odd looks from people. So what I'd change would be for people to not have an automatic low expectation or dislike towards female skaters.
Besides your ability and style factor as an athlete, how would you describe your personal style? I'm a sucker for a nice checkered shirt over vest, its always the nicest skating apparel and for everyday lifestyle!
What are your favorite brands/designers for your sports apparel and for stepping out? I love Vans for my shoes, burton for my boots, and Dragon Alliance/Oakley for my goggles!
Let’s hear your thoughts on how important looking good is to feeling good. “Being” your personal best? Looking good is always something that just generally makes me feel better about my day! Although having a chill day in pajamas is always nice, I just reckon wearing my favourite set of clothes definitely puts a smile on my face!
How dangerous do you really think it is compared to what people do in their regular activities? Sometimes I forget how dangerous snowboarding can be. Of course its amazing fun and a great way to experience a great rush, but there can be times where you can get a little too relaxed and start making mistakes which could easily lead to a bad injury! Its always best to keep a concentrated head on, so that you can enjoy the ride without ending up in a hospital!
I bet in your experience you have seen some crazy crashes. Describe one. This Easter I was snowboarding with some friends, and one decided to go full speed down a some moguls. It was all going great until one wrong turn and they ended up flying through the air in a spin wheel fashion! It was a rather impressive crash that I'll remember for a long time!
What usually gets people hooked on your activity/sport? Their first time riding down a perfect piste after a heavy night of thick snowfall. I'll never forget my first run like that, it really got me into loving what I do.
What is your favorite trick? The 'Work in Progress'.
Do you own any other toys? I've got a slack-line that I love to crack out on sunny days in the park! I also have access to a jet ski which is the perfect way to spend a day at the beach by speeding along the water in the wind!
What gets you pumped up for the day? Knowing that I could find myself deep within a new adventure just by stepping outside in the morning! I love the feeling that absolutely anything could happen to completely change my world!
What are three things you could not live without? My boards, a nice large dominos pizza, and the adventures I have with my friends!
What are your expectations for this activity/sport? I always have high expectations for where my sports can take me, or what I can do with them. Not even the sky is the limit for me!
Who have been your biggest supporters in getting you to where you are now? All the people around me are very supportive, but the main people will definitely be my housemates (one snowboarder, the other a skier). They always push my to my full potential and never let me step down from a challenge!
Who’s your favorite rider/shooter (photo/video)? I'll always answer GoPro to this question! They have such a wide range of athletes all showing off their skills in amazing and entertaining videos which never fail to impress me!
