Your Age: 19
Your Location (where do you ride mostly): Longboarding: Portsmouth Seafront
Snowboarding: Milton Keynes Indoor Snowslope
Weapon(s) of choice: My snowboard obviously, but if that is not close I'll grab my Z-Flex.
What’s an average day for you like? I awake from my slumber, procrastinate whilst drinking coffee, eat, Skate, University lectures then skate till dinner.
What is the most difficult part of your activity/sports for a beginner? The easiest? I'd have to say overcoming the thought of everyone thinking you aren't as good as them, but when it comes to snowboarding you quickly learn that most on the slopes don't care and are more than happy to give you tips on how to improve!
What is the best and worst thing about being female in your sport? Learning to snowboard with 3 brothers was hard as they seemed to pick everything up easier (I mean it took me 2 weeks to be able to use a button lift without falling off and my little bros managed to nail it first time) but there is a moment where everything clicks and you aren't scared to try new things...Plus ridding with a bunch of girls is tones more fun!
What would you like to see change in your sport to make it better for you and other female athletes? More opportunities for girls to start skating/longboarding without the pressure of people thinking why.
Besides your ability and style factor as an athlete, how would you describe your personal style? Well my style is what I like to call "stealing of your brothers".
What are your favorite brands/designers for your sports apparel and for stepping out? Snowboarding: Vans, Burton, Billabong, Oakley. Daily Clothes: Vans, Dickies, SheShreds-when student loan drops
Let’s hear your thoughts on how important looking good is to feeling good. “Being” your personal best? Let's not lie girls...when you put on an outfit you feel good in you know you can do anything you want.
How dangerous do you really think it is compared to what people do in their regular activities? As long as your safe and respectful of others on the slope you'll be fine.
I bet in your experience you have seen some crazy crashes. Describe one. Everyone goes through them stages where they think they better than they are. So there I was stood at the top of the biggest hill in Portsmouth with my z-flex shouting I'm gonna do it...5 seconds later I'm wrapped round a doggy bin.
What usually gets people hooked on your activity/sport? All your worries and fears go when you're on top of the world ridding with your crew! You get that feeling once and your hooked...Welcome to the dark side.
What is your favorite trick? That cool thing everyone seems to be able to do when they land a jump.
Do you own any other toys? I wouldn't say I'm addicted to Nerf guns...but me and my Bros might have an armory full of them.
What gets you pumped up for the day? Jamie-T Zombie on full volume.
What are three things you could not live without? 1) My boards, 2) My housemates, 3) Monster Energy Drinks
What are your expectations for this activity/sport? To get better everyday in every thing I do.
Who have been your biggest supporters in getting you to where you are now? Obviously my Family as my brothers pushed me to keep getting better than them. Since joining University I have improved massively through the snow sports society.
Who’s your favorite rider/shooter (photo/video)? Jenny Jones because well shes just a badass! I remember watching her in the Winter Olympics and just wanted to do everything to get better at the sport.
What do you do in your spare time when you’re not riding/shooting/competing? If I'm not in University doing my animation work, I'll be out and about going on adventures with mates or I'll be stuck in my room watching snow/skate edits wishing I was on a mountain.
How about in the off season to stay in shape? We don't really have an off season in England...in the winter I'm snowboarding or skating if it isn't raining, and in the summer I'm skating or up at an Indoor Snow slope.
What is your biggest goal to accomplish this/next season? I've come a lot further than I thought I ever could have, but my goal for next season is just to spend as much time in the park to push myself to try new things.
What do you do to prep for a competition? Listen to music to stay calm and try not to psych myself out too much.
What competitions and other awards have you won? Include your non sports accomplishments also. I won the opportunity to become the store Photographer for our skate team, with my images uploaded onto the teams blog.
What’s your favorite “way” to ride? I'm defiantly a freeride kinda girl, but learning to spend more time in the park.
Favorite conditions? It would have to be clear blue skies, fresh snow and the sun beaming down.
Where would be your biggest dream place to ride and why? Somewhere in Canada...Anywhere..please someone?. Anyone?
What song(s) do you listen to while riding that puts you in the zone? Jamie-T playlist on repeat and who doesn't like a good old Disney sing along on a chair lift?
What turned you on to your sport? First time Snowboarding was at the Indoor Snow slope in Dubai back in 2007, it brought me and my brothers closer almost instantly...we pushed each other to get better and we still do today.
Any new tricks you’re working on? I want to be able to do that thing when you land a trick and you act like it wasn't a big deal..so basically I'm working on being cool.
What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever done in your sport? Learnt how to use a button lift.
What other extreme/action sports are you into? I could watch Surfing edits all day...it just blows my mind.
If extreme/action sports didn’t exist, what would you be doing with all the free time you’d have? I'd probably be climbing trees or having a Nerf fight...or both.
What’s your favorite board/bike/sled to ride and why? My Jay Adams Z-Flex
What’s the trick to riding features and not killing yourself? Shut your eyes and hope for the past (best?).
How would you describe your riding style? Bracing for impact.
What would you say is your signature trick? Getting down the slopes in one piece.
Favorite drink of choice to refresh yourself after a long day of riding/shooting? Realistically it should be water...but somehow an energy drink always ends up in my hands.
What do you want to be when you grow up? I don't know yet and that's ok.
